a birthday staycation success

I'm never good at taking vacation time for extended periods, but I did it for my birthday week and it was, by far, the most relaxing week I've had in years. My twin brother came to visit from Florida, and it was a weekend of healing for the both of us (I left home so young and he had to handle so much alone) and I'm better for it.

My husband made me a zebra birthday cake with chocolate cream cheese frosting and wrote me a birthday card that made me cry. We had dinner at Bunny's in Fell's Point and I almost cried because the hush puppies and fried chicken were so good. breakfast at bluemoon

My husband I bought a new car: a Subaru Uncharted. We named her Apollo, and every time we get in we say "space car!" I consistently add "coast to coast!?" because why not? We've never owned something so nice, and it gave us the opportunity to sell our Crosstrek to my brother. Our first trip in the new EV was to Gettysburg, and I got to see my brother come back to life; standing in the checkout line of the gift shop as he buzzed with excitement and said "I feel like a kid again." gettysburg

Lastly, we got a new cat, too! His name is Kratos and he's such a sweet boy. The universe really did provide for my birthday month. :')
